Muir Woods is a short drive from Sausalito to the visitors center where the main trail begins.
The trails have some easy walks as well as the longer more difficult trails. These natural scenic walks will take you to see the west coast 1000 year old giant trees - some over 260 feet high.
Muir Woods National Monument extends from Tomales Bay in Marin County to San Mateo County covering about 59 miles of the Pacific shoreline.
The woods can be cool so dress again in layers. If the weather cools and you need a fresh cup of coffee to warm you, there is a cafe in the welcome center. |
